![]() | Bobo jumped out of nowhere! While trying to feed a very hungry female dog who just had a litter of pups, Bobo jumped out of the bushes and started eating out of my hand. It was a shock that he could even move, let alone leap! He was covered in blood and he was so thin he looked like a carcass. He has a serious case of demodex and his skin was raw. The itching must have been unbearable! He also had Erhlichia, a blood parasite which would have eventually killed him. However, he made a remarkably quick recovery. Only 1 month after treatment started, his fur was growing in fast and he was very energetic. Now we are just trying to get Bobo to put on a bit of weight as he is still a bit thin. Bobo is a very smart dog. He learned how to sit just from watching the other dogs! And he's so friendly and gets along well with other dogs. He'd actually be a great addition to a family that already has a dog or for someone who is very active. Bobo is de-sexed and vaccinated. He is housetrained and he's very smart so training him will be easy. ![]() | A word from Pepper's foster family: Pepper, when she first came into our care, was extremely scared of people. She would bolt across the room at the sight of people and just hide when ever possible. Her progress has been great! She has become a very loving cat. She is still a little shy when walking by her or approaching her, but when you sit or lay down, she will quickly run to you for affection. She absolutely loves toys and likes to be around people in general. Now she loves to sit on laps and be petted, but she is a little shy to take the jump there first. She often rolls around on the floor and is very cute to watch. Pepper's favorite interests are playing with other cats, playing with anything, and watching birds.Won't you consider giving Pepper a fur-ever loving home? ![]() | My name is Tiger. I had a very rough start to life. I was born on the street and as if that wasn't bad enough, my mommy left me behind. I really didn't know what to do. I was so scared and hungry that all I could do was meow really loudly and hope my mommy would come back. But she didn't. After days of meowing I became very tired, hungry and sick. All I could do was sneeze and cough and my eyes became infected and one even got glued shut with mucous! I was very sick, tired, hungry and I couldn't see anymore. I was just about to give up on life when a nice couple saw me huddled in a corner. They gave me some food but they didn't know what else to do with me! So, they called BARK and then suddenly I was rushed to a vet clinic. Now I'm in a really posh place with soft pillows and an endless amount of food. It's like heaven here! The nice people here said that I'm now a very healthy and happy kitten so I can go to a forever home. I say ROAR to that! Would you like to be my forever family? If you would like to help me grow up to be a big, strong, healthy tiger you can email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
![]() | A word from Pizi's foster family: Pizi was meant to be a TNR cat but we have never met such a friendly street cat before! He was so cuddly that there was no need for a trap! We petted him, he rubbed up against our legs and he purred so we simply picked him up and place him in a cat carrier. After he was neutered, he went to a foster home. He's been there for over a year now. He's such a lovley cat and his foster family really would like to adopt him but they are unsure of their future plans and most likely will go travel. While Pizi is very happy in his foster home, he would love to find the purrr-fect forever home. Pizi has done very well with other cats and some dogs. He's litter trained and he's very polite. Everyone I know loves Mac and within about 10 minutes of being at my house, she was doing all of the above! Please give her the good home she deserves! Macaroni was rescued from an alley when she was less than 2 months old. She was emaciated, covered in fleas and suffering with severe skin fungus. She was hesitant to approach but was hungry enough that she did. After only a month of TLC she became much more social with people. Now she is an extremely loveable, friendly, affectionate lap-cat. She is de-sexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated. Macaroni is in a temporary foster home but she is looking for a permanent home. ![]() | Da Tou had been wondering around in the neighborhood for days. It was obvious that she was just deserted by her former owner. She approached without hesitation and jumped onto the scooter when she was called. She is super friendly to other dogs, and people, even kids. It was discovered that she has been hanging out in the playground in a park for a few weeks. She played with kids in the daytime, and friendly kids were feeding her cookies and some leftovers. She is smart because she learned how to climb up the slide's stairs and slide down by herself for fun. Isn't that cute!!!!! She is healthy, vaccinated, de-wormed and neutered. She seldom barks and behaves very well. Da Tou is about 3-4 yrs old. Da Tou is looking for a permanent loving home or temporary foster home. ![]() | Samosa was picked up just to be taken in to get neutered. The people who knew of her, said "she's always pregnant and she's had countless litters over many years and the pups keep dying." She was meant to be a CNR dog but after her first visit to the vet, we knew we couldn't put her back. She is old, very old. The vet thinks she is about 14 years old. That's a long life for a female street dog who gave birth at least once a year, most likely twice a year, and for so many years! Well, after a year with BARK you wouldn't guess how old she really is. We think she fooled us. Her coat is shiny, her eyes bright and she is healthy and fit. She spends weekends running up and down the beach like a young puppy and loves to take naps in cool corners of the house. She greets us with a wagging tail every time we come in the door. And who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?! Samosa has learned how to sit! She will sit each and every time we ask her to :o) She's such a sweet, quiet, very low maintenance dog that sometimes we forget she's in the house! til dinner time anyways :o) If you would like to meet Samosa, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. | Muffin was seconds away from becoming dinner for a stray dog. Luckily, we were around the corner and heard her hissing. It was very late so we took her home and put her in quarantine for the night. She was so emaciated that we thought she may not live through the night. Even though we gave her lots of food, she wouldn't eat it. We thought she was too scared from her near-death ordeal and that she'd eat though the night when all was quiet. But, morning came and she hadn't touched the food. In the daylight we noticed that her eyes were almost glued shut with mucous. It was obvious she needed to see a vet immediately. |
| Queenie’s story all started when Lulu cat meowed at the right door at the right time. The very kind woman opened her door and saw a starving cat. She took her in, fed her lots, gave her a bath and cared for her. She noticed that Lulu was putting on weight rather quickly (after only a few days!) and thought it was time to take her in for vaccinations. That’s when she found out that Lulu was pregnant! She thought she rescued one cat but she ended up with a mom cat and a litter of four! Well, Lulu was such a great cat that the kind woman kept her and the kittens were all put up for adoption. Queenie is very calm, affectionate and lovable. She’s great with other cats and adapts well to dogs, too. She is litter trained, de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Queenie is ready and waiting for the purr-fect home. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more details on how to adopt Queenie. |
![]() | This lovely pure breed German Shepard was abandoned. She was obviously someone's pet as she is very friendly to everyone she encounters. She has problems with her back legs (possibly due to inbreeding) and she's blind in one eye. At only 3 years old, she's very playful and cuddly. Perhaps in the right environment with the right care, the use of her legs would improve. ![]() | Kerri is a pure-breed miniature Dobermann. She was found in a junkyard hiding under a small truck, shivering. She was probably scared to death of what may happen to her next! She has 2 large wounds on her body which look like bite marks. Upon closer inspection by the vet, it appears that they are burn marks! No wonder she was hiding!!! But even after being mistreated she is friendly, affectionate and cuddly. Kerri is currently in a foster home and her wounds are healing very well. She's ready to go to a permanent loving home. |
