Muffin was seconds away from becoming dinner for a stray dog. Luckily, we were around the corner and heard her hissing. It was very late so we took her home and put her in quarantine for the night. She was so emaciated that we thought she may not live through the night. Even though we gave her lots of food, she wouldn't eat it. We thought she was too scared from her near-death ordeal and that she'd eat though the night when all was quiet. But, morning came and she hadn't touched the food. In the daylight we noticed that her eyes were almost glued shut with mucous. It was obvious she needed to see a vet immediately. Turns out she had herpes, which would have caused blindness or death. We had caught it just in time. After only 1 week of medicine she started putting on weight and her eyes were clearing up. By the third week, she was 100% healthy. Now she is a happy, healthy kitten of 10 months. She is litter trained, vaccinated and soon to be de-sexed and micro-chipped. Muffin is ready and waiting for a loving home.
